Miss my Alvey. Had it set up with 200 lb PowerPro dyneema braid line, and a 10 OZ teardrop tungsten weight. Used to do over 500’ casts (long distance casting practice) with a heavy action 14’ foot surf rod . Loads of fun. Used the Alvey for kite flying too

You can catch a lot of fish in Melbourne and Sydney beach but Bribane fucking have no fish.

Slow your retrieve down/lower lifts and don't cast as far as you can out mate... Everything that eats your plastic is within 20m of shore

G'day Jason, I have been a bait fisher all the time however going to try lures after seeing your vid.

Nice. I fish the same groines at Brighton, but rather than cast straight out front I cast to 3 o'clock, then 1, then 11 and then 9. Covers all the water out there. Love those double clutches, but the Nomad Designs Mini Squidtrex (75 and 65mm have been my lure of choice lately as Flatties love them. The Zman StreakZ Curly Tailz (4") have been the soft plastic of choice of late.

If the tide is not running much whilst using a curl tail use the least amount of weight possible id go 1/16 or 1/12 or 1/8 what ever is the lightest jig thats is comfortable to find the bottom without washing away.

Hey jason great fish. I drive past this spot all the time and always see loads of guys fishing. Counted 12 one day! My question is is this soot a bit fished out and hard going surely there cant be that many legal flatties left there.
